Graduate Degree Programs
Many of our degree programs are offered in online and hybrid formats that fit the needs of international educators. Below is a listing of each of these degree programs. Qualified applicants will have earned baccalaureate (and for doctoral programs, master’s) degrees from fully-accredited institutions. Applicants must meet admission requirements set by the University of Kentucky Graduate School. Apply here.
MEd in Teacher Leadership
The MEd in Teacher Leadership through the Department of Educational Leadership can be completed fully online, and integrates seamlessly with the Inclusive Education Graduate Certificate.
The Teacher Leadership Program provides opportunities for experienced teachers to gain proficiency as teacher leaders capable of assuming diverse leadership responsibilities in schools, districts, and the wider context of education.
Degree-seeking candidates must successfully complete 30 credit hours that include (a) 15 credit hours in the five required courses for Teacher Leader Endorsement and (b) 15 credit hours of planned electives courses determined by candidate and TL Program Chair or EDL Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) that address candidate’s unique professional development needs.
*Please note that though the website notes that an admission requirement is to hold a valid P12 teacher certification, this is not a requirement for students outside of Kentucky, including international students.Click here for more information

The MEd in School Technology Leadership through the Department of Educational Leadership is a fully online program, well suited for international educators interested in specializing in technology in education.

PhD in Education Sciences
The Education Sciences PhD program prepares student for the growing international need for educators who are well trained in educational research as well as their areas of specialization. EDSR is a rigorous doctoral program that requires year-round study to prepare individuals who will have careers in research universities, education research labs, administration, school leadership positions, corporations, and research groups within education agencies. Students will have multiple opportunities to present their scholarly work at professional conference and submit manuscripts to professional journals during their doctoral study.Click here for more information

EdD in Educational Leadership
The newly designed Executive EdD (ExecEdD) in P-20 Educational Leadership offers an executive delivery model for the doctorate degree. Courses are taught primarily by faculty in the Department of Educational Leadership Studies.
